The May 2018 EB-5 visa bulletin has been released by the Department of State and it is has been revealed that the priority date for Vietnamese nationals for the EB-5 Regional Center Program has become subject to retrogression.

In a previous article from 10 April, EB-5 Daily reported that the U.S. Department of State Immigrant visa Control and Reporting Division Chief, Charlie Oppenheim, made a prediction that Vietnam would see a retrogression by September of this year. The news that the retrogression is hitting in May, may have Vietnamese applicants scrambling to file.

Like applicants from Mainland China, now only Vietnamese investors who filed before 22 July 2014, will be eligible to proceed in the process and obtain an EB-5 visa. Approved EB-5 applicants from Vietnam are therefore urged to file their immigrant visa and adjustment of status applications before 1 May 2018.
